 f vaccines. It will cover their origins\, based on sometimes brilliant cli
 nical observations\, up to the present day\, when vaccine design is extrem
 ely sophisticated and targeted. Existing controversies surrounding vaccine
 s\, as well as their benefits and risks\, will also be addressed. Finally\
 , the talk will discuss\, through examples\, the classic and ongoing strug
 gle between scientific movements that support vaccines and those that oppo
