An obese planet: is it all in your head?

Auditorium. Civic Center Golferichs. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 491, 08015 Barcelona.

We will explore the causes of the global obesity epidemic from a neurobiological perspective. We will focus on the key role played by the brain, especially the hypothalamus, in regulating appetite, metabolism, and eating behavior. Through the study of specific neural circuits, we will analyze how biological and environmental factors interact to influence body weight.

By Marc Claret Carles, principal investigator of the “Neuronal Control of Metabolism” group at IDIBAPS, and professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Barcelona.

Talk in Catalan. Free admission. Limited capacity, prior reservation required.
