Cancer: a miniature universe

Auditorium. Civic Center Golferichs. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 491, 08015 Barcelona.

Presented by Gemma Garcia Vicién and Laura Sererols, researchers from the IDIBAPS research group Heterogeneity and Plasticity of the Tumor Microenvironment.

We use the term cancer to refer to a group of diseases that share the loss of control of a cell type that divides endlessly, harming the proper functioning of the body. However, this apparent simplicity hides enormous complexity, with each tumor being a true microscopic universe. Why does this universe appear? How does it work exactly? And most importantly, how can we fight it? Join us on a space journey to answer these questions.

Talk in Catalan. Free entry.
