Auditorium. Civic Center Golferichs. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 491, 08015 Barcelona.

We will talk about the brain mechanisms that allow us to sleep in a way that is necessary and sufficient to “function” properly the next day. We will review what happens if we sleep too little or poorly, as well as the different sleep disorders that exist: insomnia, sleep apnea, excessive daytime sleepiness, snoring, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, sleepwalking, sleep paralysis, and REM sleep behavior disorder. We will also discuss how these types of disorders are diagnosed and treated.
