Under the name SIGiQ, the Integrated Management and Quality System brings together all the process management (including the corresponding corporate documentation system: plans, policies, processes, procedures, etc.), digitalization and automation, quality, transparency and other initiatives aimed at improving research management. These elements will form the foundations on which IDIBAPS’s management model will evolve over the next decade.
This transversal initiative, involving the whole organization, requires specific leadership and coordination. With this in mind, and following a previous pilot implementation period, the Integrated Management and Quality System Office has been created. Reporting to the Institute’s General Management, the new office has been headed since September 1, 2026, following the corresponding selection process, by Judit Martinez, who holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from UOC university, and a Master’s degree in Logistics from UPF. Martinez has more than twenty-five years of professional experience in research management in Catalonia and takes on this new responsibility after fifteen years at Fundació Clínic and IDIBAPS, where she carried out various management functions and responsibilities.
The SIGiQ office is completed with the incorporation of Meritxell Rufet, Quality Specialist, who is leading the development, harmonization and implementation of IDIBAPS’s process model and institutional documentation system, as a key pillar of the Institute’s Integrated Management and Quality System.
We are confident that this new structure will contribute to strengthening organizational efficiency, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and generating even greater value for the research community and for all the institution’s stakeholders.
