On Monday, October 26, the Campus Clínic Solidari (CCS) hosted four Ukrainian doctors as part of a visit organized by the Convent de Santa Clara Foundation—led by Sister Lucía Caram—with which the CCS closely collaborates.
The meeting brought together the Ukrainian specialists and Hospital Clínic professionals from traumatology, general and digestive surgery, neurosurgery, neurology, anaesthesiology, and rehabilitation, alongside members of the CCS Executive Committee. The session provided a first-hand look at the organizational adaptations and challenges involved in treating numerous wounded civilians and military personnel in hospitals near the front lines, all while maintaining routine medical care.
This collaboration lays the groundwork for future joint initiatives and includes a commitment from the CCS to help secure surgical equipment and supplies. The day concluded with a tour of the facilities at the University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
This initiative underscores the humanitarian commitment shared by the six institutions comprising the Campus Clínic Solidari: Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, IDIBAPS, ISGlobal, the University of Barcelona, Fundació Clínic per a la recerca Biomèdica, and CAPSBE.
