The event was a resounding success, both in terms of attendance and the scientific rigor of the presentations, as well as the interaction among participants. Throughout the various sessions, the speakers presented key advances in understanding the brain circuits involved in psychosis, the immunological mechanisms that affect NMDA receptor function, and the resulting cognitive consequences. The presentations stimulated an intense and enriching debate, highlighting the need to continue exploring the connections between these two fields of research.
During the workshop, junior researchers also actively participated, having the opportunity to present their projects in poster format. This space fostered the creation of synergies, the exchange of ideas, and the emergence of potential future collaborations, reinforcing IDIBAPS' commitment to the training and development of emerging scientific talent.
The organization and execution of the event received very positive feedback from the attendees. The warm reception and enthusiastic participation underscore the importance of approaching the study of neuropsychiatric disorders from the perspective of specific biological mechanisms, such as NMDA receptor dysfunction.
