The IDIBAPS Steering Committee has approved the leadership transition of the research group 'Biopathology and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias' Ivo Roca-Luque has been appointed as the new head of the group, succeeding Lluís Mont, who has chosen to step down from the leadership role. Mont will remain involved as an eminent researcher within the same group.
The 'eminent researcher' category was recently created to recognize group leaders who transfer the leadership of their research groups before retirement.
Ivo Roca-Luque is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, where he heads the Arrhythmia Unit, and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona. His clinical and research activities focus on the ablation of complex arrhythmias, the integration of advanced imaging technologies, and translational projects that include digital twin technology for the personalization of therapies. He has published more than 100 scientific articles, directs accreditation courses for the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA), and is a member of the European Society of Cardiology.
