The Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) and the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) organise the #científiques programme, which seeks women scientists to give talks at educational centres across Catalonia as part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated every 11 February.
The initiative aims to inspire boys and girls, help overcome stereotypes in science and technology, highlight the talent of women in the field of R&D&I, and foster networking among them.
This year, seventeen researchers from IDIBAPS are taking part: Alba Simats Oriol, Gemma Garcia Vicién, Lina Youssef, Aina Rodríguez, Aina Anton, Marta Perea Atiénzar, Berta Romero Grimaldo, Jesica Pérez Montesino, Alice Louail, Ester Sánchez Tilló, Lucía Aragón Serrano, Blanca Garcia Delgar, Silvia Gines Padros, Ana Hernández de Sande, Laura Benito Sandoval, Victoria Gudiño Beneite and Maria Carreras Caballé.
As every year, a #científiques meeting was held ahead of 11F. On this occasion, it took place on 27 January at the Casa de Convalescence of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i de Sant Pau (UAB Barcelona Campus), and consisted of a day of inspiration, training and networking.
