About me
Alicia Garrido is a neurologist member of the Parkinson's Movement Disorders Unit in the Hospital Clinic Barcelona and a junior researcher focused on genetic forms of Parkinson's disease and its prodromal phases. She started as a clinical research fellow at the Parkinson and Movement Disorders Unit in 2015.She has worked in the line of research of pre-clinical and prodromal Parkinson's disease, studying the natural history of these phases of the disease. Also, she has investigated possible diagnostic and progression biomarkers in patients at risk of developing it, such as asymptomatic carriers of genetic mutations (LRRK2) and patients with REM sleep behavior disorder. She has participated in designing, coordinating, and developing 18 research projects (national/international competitive ca
