About me

As a researcher, I have been devoted to biomedical science and to inflammatory mechanisms for +20 years. After a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School, I became an independent researcher in 2005. Since 2009, I hold a permanent position at IDIBAPS, Hospital Clinic. Currently, I lead the IBD translational lab at IDIBAPS, focusing on the immune regulation disruption in IBD patients, identifying new targets and developing therapies. We collaborate with pharma companies and conduct sub-studies in clinical trials. Besides teaching, I’m an Immunology Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona (2009). My purpose is to carry out research that can directly impact patients’ lives.
