About me

Dr. Almendros earned his degree in Biology from the University of Sevilla and obtained his PhD in 2008 from the University of Barcelona (UB). He completed postdoctoral stays at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and the University of Chicago. Since 2015, he has been a professor in the Department of Biomedicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the UB. He is currently the head of the CB06/06/0026 group at CIBERES and chair of group 4.01 of the sleep assembly of the European Respiratory Society. He has published over 150 articles on the biomechanical aspects and effects of hypoxia in various respiratory pathologies
