BIOBANK OF THE HOSPITAL CLINIC OF BARCELONA - IDIBAPS
Biobank
High-quality samples for future research

Communications, scientific events and public dissemination

The Biobank has a multidisciplinary team of technicians and scientists who collaborate in the field of research and dissemination in events such as congresses, seminars and teaching activities, focused on the discipline of biobanking.

Likewise, the Biobank is involved with patients and society, as it works with human biological samples and associated data. In order to promote mutual knowledge, it carries out informative visits and dissemination actions on days such as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Science Week, and other activities aimed at society, patient associations and teaching centres. In addition, it participates in national and international collaborative groups to encourage the involvement of patients and society in general in biobanking.

Joining the international BBMRI-ERIC Biobank network

September 2025

The National Platform of Biomodels and Biobanks of ISCIII, which includes the HCB-IDIBAPS Biobank, has been accepted as a full member of the European infrastructure BBMRI-ERIC. This membership provides access to resources and working groups that support progress toward a competitive, international biobank model with greater capacity to respond to scientific advances.
