A new system enables the early detection of drug-induced liver toxicities in primary care

A study led by professionals from the Clínic-IDIBAPS and the Barcelona Esquerra Primary Healthcare Consortium (CAPSBE) has developed a system for the early identification of potential cases of drug-induced liver toxicity in primary care. The study, published in the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, shows that this type of liver injury has an incidence of approximately 10 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per year, and that its early detection prevents complications and favours a full recovery.
