IDIBAPS organizes a scientific photography contest every year. Both its staff and those from other institutions within the Campus Clínic environment can participate. In this edition, 26 images were submitted, which you can view here. Once the submission period has ended, the popular voting period opens, during which anyone can give a “like” to their favorite photos. The fifteen most-voted images move on to the final stage, where an external jury selects the three winners.
The winners were announced in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona, as part of the institutional Sant Jordi event of the Campus Clínic. The award ceremony was led by Michela Bertero, Director of Strategy at IDIBAPS.
This year, the jury’s verdict was as follows:
- First prize: "Punts de funció ", by Alejandro Hinojosa Moscoso
- Second prize: "The Final Battle", by Diba Zare
- Third prize: "Bacterial Rocket", by Alexandra Lara Muñoz
The jury was composed of:
- Haizea Haizea Olabe Molina, Director of the scientific outreach project at Vil·la Urània
- Gerardo Garcia, Senior Researcher at Evotec
- Anna May, Head of Communication at ICMAB
- Marc Montalà Iranzo, Art Director
- Cristina Sáez, Science Editor at the newspaper ARA
Prizes:
- 1st prize: shopping voucher worth 250 euros for the L'Illa Diagonal shopping center
- 2nd prize: shopping voucher worth 150 euros for the L'Illa Diagonal shopping center
- 3rd prize: shopping voucher worth 75 euros for the L'Illa Diagonal shopping center
