According to the Hospital’s General Director, Dr Josep Maria Campistol, 2025 has been “a year to look back with pride and move forward with enthusiasm and ambition”, in which Clínic once again demonstrated that it is much more than a healthcare institution, strengthening its commitment to health, knowledge and society.
The 2025 Annual Report coincides with the completion of the Nou Univers Clínic 2025 Strategic Plan, launched at the end of 2021 and which, over four years, has driven the institution’s transformation through the pillars of a Patient-Centred, Smart, Sustainable and Pioneering Clínic. The results of the plan highlight achievements in digital transformation, patient experience, sustainability, innovation and translational research, as well as the strong involvement of professionals throughout this process of change.
One of the year’s most significant milestones was the progress made on the future Clínic-UB Health Campus. The creation of the consortium that will lead the project and the advancement of the planning work for the new campus represent a decisive step toward a model that will integrate healthcare, education, research and innovation, with the ambition of becoming an international benchmark in the health sector.
Throughout 2025, Clínic also consolidated major healthcare advances, strengthening its robotic surgery programme and its leadership in advanced therapies such as CAR-T treatments, with more than 500 patients treated. In addition, the hospital commemorated the 60th anniversary of the first kidney transplant performed in Spain, a procedure carried out at Hospital Clínic itself.
In the field of education, the hospital welcomed 125 new residents, reinforcing its role as a leading centre for the training of healthcare professionals.
In terms of healthcare activity, Clínic recorded 53,076 inpatient discharges, 662,001 outpatient visits, 169,652 emergency department visits and 33,554 surgical procedures, maintaining its position as one of the leading high-complexity hospitals in the healthcare system.
As a new feature, the 2025 Annual Report integrates, for the first time, institutional information and key sustainability indicators within a single document, reflecting Clínic’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and to responsible management across social, environmental and governance dimensions.
