The event, held at the Paranimf of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, began with a greeting from Dr. Josep M. Campistol, the hospital’s general director, who thanked the new residents for choosing the Clínic for their residency training.
The welcome event also featured speeches by Dr. Raquel Sánchez-Valle, the hospital’s Medical director, Ms. Saray Alen, director of Nursing, and Dr. Gerard Espinosa, director of Teaching, and Mr. Marc Mascareñas, director of Human Resources.
Starting tomorrow, the residents will begin their training courses, and rotations across the different departments will commence from June 16th.
Hospital Clínic Barcelona is a high-complexity center, offering the ideal conditions to develop all aspects of residency training. In total, more than 430 residents are trained at the Clínic each year. Upon completing their residency, they can apply for one of the 16 annual Clínic Research Contracts, which allow them to dedicate two post-residency years to research.
