At each session, we will discuss a fictional work with its author, translator or editor. Forty people can attend each: ten from the Foundation-IDIBAPS, ten from the Hospital Clínic, ten from the University of Barcelona (UB) and, for the first time, ten from CAPSBE. The participants will receive copies of the book in advance, having undertaken to read it prior to the meeting.
The Book Club sessions will take place on Thursdays at 6.30 pm, each hosted by one of the organising entities. Last year, all the books were listed together, and those interested could choose one. This time, however, the books will be announced one by one, and taking part in one session will not exclude those interested from attending others.
The first session will be at 6.30 pm on Thursday, March 23, and the book will be "Secret professional", by Amàlia Lafuente, a former professor of Pharmacology at the UB and IDIBAPS researcher who died in the summer of 2022. The session will be led by the book’s editor, Marta Selvas.
Those interested in taking part in this session of the Book Club can register by filling in this form.
If applications exceed the ten places assigned to IDIBAPS, lots will be drawn to decide who can attend.
The deadline for registrations is Tuesday, February 28.
