Campus Clínic Solidari is a joint initiative of the Hospital Clínic Barcelona, the University of Barcelona, associated biomedical research institutes (IDIBAPS and ISGlobal), CAPSBE primary care, and the Fundació Món Clínic, which promotes international health cooperation, defends human rights and strives for global justice. From our threefold perspective—healthcare, academic, and scientific—we are committed to causes that affect the lives and dignity of people around the world.
In light of the tragedy being experienced by the Palestinian people in Gaza, we cannot remain silent. The United Nations independent commission of inquiry has confirmed that Israel is committing genocide, with the intention of partially or totally destroying the Palestinian population. According to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health, more than 64,000 people have been killed, including 20,000 children, in an offensive that has destroyed civilian infrastructure, hospitals, and schools.
From Campus Clínic Solidari:
- We strongly condemn the genocide in Gaza.
- We demand an immediate and sustained ceasefire.
- We call for free access to humanitarian aid and medical evacuations.
- We denounce attacks on health facilities and medical personnel.
- We oppose forced displacement and ethnic cleansing.
As a community committed to global health, care, research, and training, we are joining the international call for peace, justice, and freedom for the Palestinian people.
