The IDIBAPS Functional Genomics platform has a new piece of equipment, the Cellometer™ Ascend™ (Revvity), offering an automated cell counting service. This equipment is an innovative, fast and versatile counter that is characterised by:
- Automated analysis that provides information on cell size, number, concentration and viability.
- High accuracy for cell counting and viability study: dual fluorescence and brightfield.
- Minimal sample volume (5-10μl).
- Analysis of different types of cells (cell lines, PBMCs, whole blood, bone marrow, etc).
- Suitable for very diluted samples.
- One to eight samples can be analysed at a time.
- Automated image analysis system, with multiple counting areas (up to 8 images/sample), increasing the reliability of the results.
- Variety of predefined protocols: viability, apoptosis, and transfection efficiency, among others.
