Use suitable clothing (long trousers, closed shoes, socks).

Apply insect repellent containing N, N-Diethyl-meta-toluamide (DEET) to prevent tick bites, especially when staying in rural and wooded areas in Central Europe.

Avoid consuming untreated milk to minimise the risk of contagion.

Correct vaccination

There are two effective vaccines available in Europe to prevent Central European encephalitis, which can be administered for high-risk trips or stays.
