A recent study identifies a new gene associated with polyposis and colorectal cancer

A study in which IDIBAPS researchers took part has found new alterations that cause loss of function in the BMPR2 gene, leading to uncontrolled proliferation of the epithelial cells of the colon and an increased risk of polyposis and cancer.
