The evaluation outcome was highly positive: IDIBAPS completed the process without any corrective actions. The evaluation report, prepared by the European Commission, highlights the strength of the institution’s strategy and its alignment with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. It also emphasizes the integration of the HRS4R strategy into the institution’s overall strategic plan and its sustained implementation through monitoring mechanisms, stakeholder participation, and continuous improvement. The ultimate goal is to ensure transparent recruitment practices, foster an excellent research and working environment, and support the professional development of all IDIBAPS members.
Among the actions included in the current plan, particular mention should be made of the launch of the Stepping-Stone programme, which offers scientific and transferable skills training for all professional profiles at IDIBAPS, including researchers, laboratory technicians, and administrative and management staff. The Institute has also joined the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) and has implemented a specific action plan for the 2024–2028 period. In the area of talent attraction and integration, onboarding processes have been strengthened through the introduction of PhD Welcome Days and biannual welcome sessions for postdoctoral researchers. In addition, a new Open Science policy has been implemented, supported by dedicated training sessions and specific resources. Finally, the approval and deployment of the Gender Equality Plan (2022–2025) should be highlighted. This plan includes initiatives such as the Roving Researcher role, designed to support different projects and help mitigate the impact of maternity and caregiving responsibilities on research career progression.
