The Hospital Clínic has a volunteer programme to improve the humanization of healthcare. Our volunteers offer emotional support and company during your stay, helping you to feel less alone and more at ease.
If you have been referred to the Hospital Clínic, you can request these volunteer services from your case manager or nurse, who will coordinate your request with the volunteer service through our internal channels.
The volunteer services include:
- Hospital companionship
Accompanying patients who are alone or need support during their hospital stay.
- Accompaniment for medical tests
Accompanying patients from their home to the hospital to undergo diagnostic tests (with sedation), outpatient procedures, and other interventions, when they do not have family support.
- Support and accessibility
Providing support at information points, outpatient clinics, main entrances and other places where it may be needed, and offering accompaniment.
- Lived experience sharing service
Volunteers who share their personal experiences with other patients who are going through similar illnesses or treatments.
- Volunteer patient navigator
This service is intended for patients from outside Barcelona who need to attend pre-operative tests before undergoing certain types of surgery.
