The Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Unit has experience in and a tradition of providing Parkinson's disease training at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels (4th year students of the Medicine and Nursing Degree at the University of Barcelona). This training is offered through rotations of Neurology residents at the Hospital Clínic and hospitals throughout Spain or through the Master's Degree in Advanced Medical Skills at the University of Barcelona; an official master's degree with students from Spain, Lisbon and South America.

Furthermore, the unit's neurologists and nurses are invited speakers and regular organisers of prestigious conferences and congresses: locally (Catalan Society of Neurology), nationally (Spanish Society of Neurology) and internationally (International Parkinson's & Movement Disorders Society, International Association of Parkinsonism & Related Disorders, World Parkinson's Congress). They also participate in public administration initiatives such as the Parkinson's Care Plan at the Generalitat de Catalunya Department of Health, aimed at planning patient care and organising training about the disease for various professionals. The unit's nursing staff participates in the respective Catalan and Spanish societies of neurology and neurological nursing; organising sessions for accredited nurses with continuing education credits.

Finally, several members of the unit are regular contributors to the various editions of the Parkinson's and movement disorders chapter of the Neurology section of the prestigious Farreras-Rozman Internal Medicine Textbook, an essential reference work for students, residents and specialists in Spain and throughout Latin America.
