Governing bodies
The Fundació de Recerca Clínic Barcelona-Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (DIBAPS) is the result of the integration in 2023 of the Hospital Clínic Foundation for Biomedical Research (FCRB), created in 1989, and the consortium August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute, created in 1996. It is a nonprofit foundation with a board of governors representing the Catalan Government departments of Health and of Research and Universities, Hospital Clínic, Barcelona, and Universitat de Barcelona.
As established in the statutes of the institution, “the Board of Trustees is the Foundation’s governing and administrative body. It represents and manages the Foundation, and assumes all powers and functions necessary to achieve the Foundation’s purpose". To ensure that the administration of governance of the Foundation is as agile as possible, the Board of Trustees has appointed a Delegate Committee. Among other things, the Delegate Committee will draw up the order of the day for Board of Trustee sessions, review documentation to be presented, conduct periodic monitoring of the work of management and monitor all pacts and agreements signed.
