The FENS Forum is the largest neuroscience congress in Europe and one of the leading global events in the field. This edition will take place from the 6th to the 10th of July in Barcelona.
Organized by the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies, the congress brings together thousands of professionals from around the world to share scientific advances, establish new collaborations, and discuss future challenges in neuroscience. The programme includes symposia, plenary lectures, poster sessions, and discussion forums that reflect the broad diversity of neuroscience research.
In this context, IDIBAPS is promoting a wide range of activities covering key areas such as computational neuroscience, neuronal regeneration, neuroendocrinology, motor control, and decision-making. In total, the institute is involved in eight satellite events and initiatives taking place before and after the congress, with a strong focus on early-career talent and a clear commitment to interdisciplinarity and open science. The initiatives share a cross-disciplinary approach that connects molecular mechanisms with behaviour and clinical applications.
These are the activities organized by IDIBAPS:
FENS-ENCODS 2026 – European Neuroscience Conference by Doctoral Students
A European conference led by and designed for doctoral students, aimed at inspiring, connecting, and supporting the next generation of neuroscientists. The 2026 edition will focus on the theme “Brain in Context”, highlighting the role of factors ranging from molecules to experience in shaping the brain.
