Research - Infectious Diseases Service
The research of the Infectious Diseases Department is carried out at the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) and is part of the area of Biological Aggression and Response Mechanisms.
The research is carried out in the following groups:

AIDS and HIV infection
HIV infection, with special attention to the effectiveness of antiretroviral treatment, adverse effects and aspects related to the immune response.

Nosocomial infection
Infections related to healthcare and, in particular, those caused by multidrug-resistant microorganisms; their control, prevention and treatment.

Endocarditis. Cardiovascular infections. Experimental model
Infectious endocarditis, an animal model for establishing the response to different antibiotics and clinical studies based on experience.
