The research conducted in the Bipolar and Depressive Disorders Unit is carried out through the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), in the area of Clinical and Experimental Neurosciences. More specifically in the following research group:

The Bipolar and Depressive Disorders Unit of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona has led and participated in at least a hundred national and international studies on affective disorders, allowing us to discover relevant aspects of the course and prognosis of these diseases (clinical, biological and neurocognitive). In 2005, it was recognized as a consolidated research group by AGAUR.
