International excellence in cancer care, research, and education
Clínic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Centre is a joint initiative of Hospital Clínic Barcelona, the University of Barcelona and IDIBAPS. The centre integrates care, research and education to provide personalised and innovative treatment for people with cancer, placing patients and their families at the heart of all decisions.
Its multidisciplinary structure, based on functional units and tumour committees, ensures that each case is addressed from every perspective and that the latest scientific and technological advances are rapidly translated into clinical practice.
Core areas of 4CB
Organisational and multidisciplinary model
4CB is structured around functional units specialised in each type of cancer, bringing together professionals from all fields to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. Molecular tumour boards enable personalised therapeutic decisions through advanced analysis of tumour biology.
With 26 high-impact research groups, 4CB leads projects ranging from the development of new therapies to precision medicine. The centre actively participates in clinical trials and international collaborations to accelerate the translation of knowledge into clinical practice.
Education and training
4CB is firmly committed to continuous professional development and talent promotion, offering residency programmes, master’s degrees, and scientific meetings, and engaging students and residents in both clinical and research activities.
Patient engagement and support
Patients are at the heart of all 4CB activities. The centre provides support resources, emotional care, practical information, and participation spaces for patients and their families.
