Research at Clínic Barcelona Comprehensive Cancer Centre is organized within the IDIBAPS cancer area, gathering 27 research groups that work together across multiple disciplines. Each group brings specialized expertise in diagnosis, treatment, cancer biology, and epidemiology. This organization fosters collaborative biomedical research aimed at transferring knowledge quickly to clinical care and improving health outcomes.
You can find the full list of research groups, with detailed information about each, in the IDIBAPS cancer area.
Research programs
Research is also structured around two major programmes, gathering the center’s key scientific projects and research lines:
Translational Cancer Research Programme
This programme aims to advance the understanding of cancer’s molecular mechanisms, identify new biomarkers, promote personalized medicine, and translate laboratory breakthroughs into clinical practice. Researchers employ innovative biomedical technologies, experimental models, and omics data so that discoveries quickly benefit patients.
