Treatment of Laryngeal Cancer at Clínic

The Otorhinolaryngology Department at Hospital Clínic has treated more than 4,000 patients with laryngeal cancer and is a leading national and international centre for transoral laser microsurgery treatment. This minimally invasive approach combines the precision and coagulation capability of a laser with microscopic control.

Hospital Clínic is a pioneer in the application of this surgery in intermediate and advanced tumours. The results are comparable to those of partial external surgery, but without the need for tracheotomy and with early functional recovery.

The ENT-Oncology Department works alongside the Medical Oncology, Radiotherapy Oncology, Radiodiagnostics, Nuclear Medicine and Anatomical Pathology Departments to provide comprehensive treatment for patients with laryngeal cancer.
