Prognosis of Contact Dermatitis

Reading time: 1 min

In most cases, contact dermatitis has a good prognosis. When the triggering substance is identified and avoided, skin lesions generally improve or disappear.

However, if exposure persists, the dermatitis can become chronic, affecting the patient’s quality of life and, in some cases, interfering with their work.

With proper medical follow-up, the use of topical treatments, and the adoption of preventive and protective measures, most patients are able to control flare-ups and maintain healthy skin.
