Treatment of Retinal Diseases at Clínic
Retinal diseases represent one of the most significant ophthalmological afflictions due to the large number of patients they affect, and their repercussions on these patients’ vision.
This means that these pathologies are very present in care, teaching and research at Hospital Clínic.
In terms of healthcare, approximately 20,000 medical appointments are made each year for patients with these diseases. From the point of view of treatment, more than 400 retinal operations, mainly vitrectomies, and more than 5,000 intravitreal drug injections and 600 retinal laser treatments are performed
