Research activities are also carried out through the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants of the Generalitat de Catalunya (AGAUR), which recognizes the team as a Consolidated Research Group.
The Unit leads the following lines of research:
Artificial intelligence-assisted optical biopsy in the diagnosis of head and neck cancer
New robot-assisted and artificial intelligence tools applied to transoral surgery
Multi-omic characterization of head and neck carcinomas
In addition, the Unit leads several clinical research actions with participation in multiple phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials that seek to improve aspects related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancer.
It also carries out different innovative projects that include minimally invasive transoral surgery, robot-assisted surgery, advanced endoscopic nasosinusal and skull base surgery and complex reconstructive surgery.
