Organization - Allergology Service
The Allergy Service is a Centre of Excellence accredited by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the World Allergy Organization (WAO), the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network (GA2LEN) for anaphylaxis and food allergy (ANACARE) and has been accredited as a Unit of Excellence in Severe Asthma by the Spanish Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology (SEAIC).
Care tasks are carried out in different facilities at the Villarroel Site, the Plató Site, or at the specialized outpatient clinic, depending on the diagnostic and treatment needs of each patient.
It offers specialized outpatient clinics for the following conditions:
- Anaphylaxis / Mastocytosis
- Food Allergy
- Skin Allergy
- Drug Allergy
- Respiratory Allergy
- Asthma
It participates in the following multidisciplinary committees:
- Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Committee
- Asthma Committee
- Skin Allergy Committee
- Drug Allergy and Desensitization Committee
- Severe Respiratory Diseases Committee
- Technical Committee on Pharmacovigilance
The different facilities are:
- Diagnosis and treatment area: Diagnostic offices at the Respiratory Diagnostic Centre (CDR) and the ICR and Plató Site Day Hospital.
- Outpatient clinic at the Villarroel Site and the Plató Site
- Haematology and Oncology Day Hospital
The Drug Desensitization Working Group is coordinated by the Allergy Department. It establishes care protocols with the different services involved in its coordination body to address the treatment needs of patients with a history of drug allergy and autoimmune, infectious, hematologic, or oncologic conditions.
The Clinical Pharmacovigilance Program is coordinated by the Allergy Department, establishing care protocols in coordination with the different services involved that form part of its coordination body.
