Treatment of Contact Dermatitis at Hospital Clínic

Reading time: 1 min

Hospital Clínic carries out epicutaneous tests on around 300 patients a year, with the majority of these cases being a new diagnosis.

The patients are referred from other medical specialisations (allergology, occupational medicine, traumatology, primary care, etc.), and some dermatological sub-specialisms.

Currently, all epicutaneous tests on the market are available at Hospital Clínic, making it possible to investigate more specific cases, including those that are difficult to diagnose or that have not been completed at other hospitals or medical centres.

Dr Victoria Amat Samaranch, head of the unit, is a member of the Spanish Contact Dermatitis and Skin Allergy Research Group (GEIDAC), a leading body in research on contact dermatitis and cutaneous immunoallergy. The Contact Dermatitis department actively participates in the group’s meetings and contributes scientific content for conferences and publications.
