How is Hantavirus treated?

There is no specific antiviral treatment for most hantaviruses, nor is there a widely available vaccine.
Treatment consists of supportive care measures, which may include the following, depending on disease severity:
Oxygen therapy.
Fluid and electrolyte management.
Medication to maintain blood pressure.
Mechanical ventilation when required.
Early diagnosis and intensive supportive treatment, when indicated, improve clinical outcomes and prognosis.
