No. The vast majority of hantaviruses are transmitted from rodents to humans. Only the Andes virus has been shown, exceptionally, to be capable of person‑to‑person transmission.

Sporadic and very rare cases have been reported. The risk for the general population is very low.

There is no widely available vaccine for general use.

It can be serious in some cases, particularly when lung involvement occurs, but it remains a rare infection.

You should follow the guidance of public health authorities. In some cases, clinical follow‑up or diagnostic testing may be required according to established protocols.
