Cancer, explained in first person
Cancer is a frequent illness due to the increasing aging of the population. The term cancer includes a large group of illnesses that are characterized by the development of abnormal cells, which divide and grow uncontrollably in any part of the body. This unbroken cell division forms masses called tumours. Cancer treatments are chosen depending on the characteristics of the patient, the stage or stage of the disease (TNM) and the type of tumour. They can include surgical treatment, radiotherapy and pharmacological treatment, which includes chemotherapy, hormone therapy, and biological therapies. Its objective is to cure the ailment or, when it is not possible, to chronify it.
