The research led by the Gynecology Service is carried out mainly through the August Pi Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), in the Area of the Liver, the digestive system and metabolism in the group of:

The research is also carried out in the group recognized by the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR) of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The main lines of research of the Gynecology Service are the following:

Cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

  • Vaccines (prophylactic and therapeutic) for cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

  • Determination of HPV and biomarkers in the diagnosis, prognosis and follow-up of cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

  • Sentinel ganglion for cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

  • PET / CT scan and portable gamma camera in the staging of cervical cancer and premalignant lesions

  • Sentinel Gangli in Endometrial Cancer

  • PET / CT scan and portable gamma camera in staging endometrial cancer

Ovarian cancer

  • Stem cells in ovarian epithelial cancer

  • Intraperitoneal chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

  • Cytoreduction surgery for platinum-sensitive recurrences in ovarian cancer

Endocrinology and reproduction

  • Preservation of Fertility

  • Lifestyles and environmental factors and fertility

Breast pathology

  • Breast carcinoma in situ: study of the tumor microenvironment in the stroma of the CDIS
