Research - Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology Service

The general objectives of the research carried out at the Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Service of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona are focused on optimizing the diagnostic procedures and treatments used in healthcare practice, consolidating research as a fundamental part of the activity. 

This activity is reflected in the more than 80 articles published over the last 5 years, in the more than 35 theses defended, and in the process of development by the members of the service. The Service’s research activity includes studies promoted by researchers and the participation in studies with other national and international centres and institutions and studies promoted by the industry. 

The Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Service of the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona specializes in septic pathologies and one-stage prosthetic replacements, among other things, and has improvement projects in the fields of robotics and 3D technology applied to joint prostheses.

Research at the service is mainly funded by industry, scientific societies and in the framework of national and European competitive calls.
