Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Service at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, part of the Institute of Medical and Surgical Specialities (ICEMEQ). The team specializes in the treatment of various disorders of the musculoskeletal system, including congenital anomalies, tumours, degenerative diseases and traumatic injuries. 

Each year, they receive over 54,259 visits, which reflects their activity and the trust the patients place in them. They perform 4,618 discharges a year, including 1,402 fracture surgeries. They also carry out 1,000 prosthetic surgeries per year (647 knee and 401 hip replacements), key procedures to help our patients regain their mobility and improve their quality of life. 

At the Service, they adopt a patient-centred approach, prioritizing an accurate diagnosis and treatment appropriate to the needs of each individual.

This highly qualified team covers the entire spectrum of surgical pathologies in this specialty, from the most routine procedures to the most complex cases. 

It is a leading centre in the treatment of complex pathologies, with a special emphasis on the management of polytraumatized patients, prosthetic replacements, septic pathologies, robotic surgery, and the use of 3D technology.
