Teaching - Otorhinolaryngology Service

One of the goals of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona is the training of physicians and healthcare professionals in all areas of the specialty.

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona and takes part in the training of the Degree in Medicine, the Degree in Biomedical Engineering, the Master’s in Advanced Medical Competencies in Sleep Disorders, and the Master’s in Advanced Medical Competencies in Movement Disorders. The Department also supervises multiple doctoral studies in Medicine.

The Department is nationally accredited for the training of two residents each year in the specialty of:

The Department offers training placements for national and international specialists, as well as numerous continuing medical education courses, both for primary care physicians and for specialists. It has a long-standing tradition of organizing surgical dissection courses in coordination with the Anatomy Laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona.

Each year, the following courses are organized:

• Annual courses in Basic Endoscopic Sinonasal Surgery (CENS)

• Annual courses in Advanced CENS and anterior skull base approaches

• Courses in flap reconstruction

• Courses in transoral laser surgery

• Courses in endoscopic ear surgery

• Courses in audiometry

• Course in transorbital surgery

• Course in closure of nasal septal perforations
