Helicobacter pylori is mainly transmitted via the oral-oral or faecal-oral route, often within the family environment and during childhood.

Factors that may influence its onset include:

Hand washing

Hygiene conditions.

A lot of people in the same house

Living in small places with other people.

Decrease of money

Socioeconomic factors.

Once acquired, the bacterium can persist for decades if it is not eradicated with specific antibiotic treatment.
