Organization - The Clínic's Institute of Medical and Surgical Specialties

The Institute is made up of six specialties, grouped into five services:

The healthcare activity of the Institute in the last year has been as follows:

• 5.397 hospital discharges and outpatient surgeries
• 5.515 surgerical operations, of which 1,836 were outpatient
• 1.900 one-day hospital stays
• 57.337 outpatient visits
• 1.691 rehabilitation processes

The Institute has 72 beds in four hospital wards. The surgeries are scheduled and performed in the operating rooms of the surgical block, which consists of the emergency room and the Major Ambulatory Surgery area. Operations are performed in both the surgical and emergency rooms in the morning and afternoon, but only in the emergency room at night.

The Rehabilitation service is located in the External Consultation Building (Carrer Casanova) where there are offices for visits by doctors and physiotherapists, as well as three large rooms equipped to carry out the various therapies.

• Complex prosthetic surgery, and both infectious and traumatological surgery (Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology)
• Gender confirmation operations (Plastic surgery)
• Maxillofacial Tumors (Maxillofacial Surgery)
• Otolaryngology Oncology
• Inflammatory joint pathology (Rheumatology)
• Rehabilitation of complex processes (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation)
• Various aspects of sports exercise, including sports injuries and the prescription of physical exercise in chronic diseases (Sports Medicine).
