Members of the Pulmonology Department participate in the following Functional Units of Working Groups at the hospital:

 The Department is divided up into 1 Section and 2 Healthcare Units

• Respiratory Diagnostic Centre Section

The Department has received the following accreditations as a local, national, and European reference centre.

1) Clinical Expertise Unit Networks (XUEC) in Rare Respiratory Diseases recognized by the Catalan Health Service in:

• Interstitial lung diseases
• Bronchiectasis not associated with cystic fibrosis
• Rare pulmonary hypertension
• Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency
• Ventilation disorders
• Respiratory malformations

2) Spanish Ministry of Health’s Reference Centres, Services and Units (CSUR) corresponding to centres with reference Units accredited by the Ministry of Health at a national level by centres:

• Complex pulmonary hypertension

3) European Reference Network (ERN) for rare respiratory diseases (ERN_LUNG) for:

• Pulmonary hypertension
• Interstitial pulmonary disease
• Sarcoidosis
