Research on AMD at the Clinic

AMD research is carried out mainly through the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) and in collaboration with other national and international research groups and institutes. 

ICOF researchers work on various research projects on this disease, notable among which is the international project Fight Retinal Blindness (FRB) at Sydney University, coordinated at a national level from the Institute. The clinical trials unit participates in the main international studies of new chemical entities for the treatment of AMD, accessible to all patients treated at the hospital.
