• Redox stress in aortic aneurysm formation and progression in Marfan syndrome

  Our aim is to find out which moieties and signaling pathways are impaired in redox physiology and stress in aortic vascular cells. We are also assaying new anti-oxidants to mitigate the aortic aneurysm progression.

• New pharmacological approaches to interfere in the Marfan syndrome-associated TGF-β hypersignaling

  We use TGF-β receptor peptide sequences to sequester soluble active TGF-β in excess to prevent the aortic aneurysm.
