Research lines on Dry Eye Syndrome at the Clínic

Reading time: 1 min

The main research lines focus on the analysis of inflammatory molecules and blood derivatives and anti-inflammatory drugs as treatments.

The ICOF is a national and international benchmark as a Clinical Trials Unit for dry eye syndrome. It participates in many multicenter clinical trials, both Spanish and European, necessary for many current drugs to be marketed.

Clinical trials are currently underway on different treatments, such as topical cyclosporine with various pharmacological modalities or drugs that improve neurosensory disturbances.

The results of these researches and clinical trials are reflected in numerous publications in high-impact international journals.

Regarding these inflammatory diseases, the ICOF participates in various national and international conferences. Among them, the SESOC (Spanish Society of Ocular Surface and Cornea) Conference, the SEO (Spanish Society of Ophthalmology) Conference, the SEIOC (Spanish Society of Ocular Inflammation) Conference, and the IOIS (International Ocular Inflammatory Society) Conference stand out.
